Ramen

A stunning showcase designed by our creative directors within PICS, which demonstrates the complex preparation of a Ramen meal. This purely CGI created film illustrates multiple capabilities covering 3D modelling, VFX, texturing, lighting, animation, sound design and post-production to their full potential.

While technically hugely challenging, our desire was to keep this sequence fast paced, playful and impactful. After every element was created as a detailed CGI model, utmost care was taken to show each ingredient and supporting prop as photo-realistically as possible. Vivid colouring and natural lighting combined with contrasting pace bring the ingredients together in a stunning conclusion.

Paying particular attention to behaviour control, gravity was both observed and defied where we felt it added to the overall equation. The pepper sections were designed to mimic real motion capture, with the impact and subsequent seed dispersal highlighting this in spectacular detail. The surface textures combined with subtle, yet noticeable imperfections were all carefully controlled to return deliciously authentic visuals.
